What We Do

Homeownership

At Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity we believe it is a basic human right that everyone has access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. We want to help you build a better life for you and your family that will last generations. Side by side we will help you build a new home and help you learn the skills to become a successful homeowner. Becoming a homeowner is hard work but with some help from volunteers and donors, we can build a stronger future together. Ramps and Minor Home Repair

Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity’s minor home repair program helps low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain their homes, allowing them to reclaim their investment with pride and dignity. The program eliminates substandard housing through home improvement projects. For those that need safer and easier access to their home we also build wheelchair ramps.

Financial Counseling

We want to do everything we can to help prepare you for the day you receive your keys, and well beyond. One way we do that is through financial education.
As part of the required sweat equity portion of the Habitat homeowner process, we believe that financial education leads to a greater investment inthe home. Additionally, it builds a more solid foundation for long- term personal success.
